AMBER Updates for April 2019

For improving the services of our customer, AMBER releases general updates for all accounts. This document list recent releases.

  • Increase in number of Users. from 5 to 10 (1 admin + 9 sub-users)
  • Audit Trail.
  • Export.
  • Auto reply.
  • Message Template.
  • Newsroom.
  • Duplicate Contacts.
  • New BILLING Email address.

1. Added the number of “Users”.

We have increased the limit to 10 AMBER Users. You can now add up to 9 Sub-Users. You can now also set the restrictions of the Sub-user upon creation. Steps below:

  1. To enter sub-users of your AMBER account, under Users tab click the Add User button.
  2. This opens the Add New User form. Provide the details of the new user here.
  3. In the Access Rights portion of this form, tick the necessary module(s) to allow for this new user.
  4. Upon filling this up, click the Create User button.
  5. Having done this, a “Created!” message box will then appear, confirming the existence of this user.


2. Audit Trail.

We use the Audit Trail module to track user’s usage of your Amber Account.

  1. In AMBER’s main menu, click Audit Trail.
  2. In the screen that will show, indicate the date coverage to check user activity.
  3. Set the Filter by User option to show the activities of a particular user only.  This is set to All by default.
  4. To download the generated list, click the Export button.
  5. A file download in a CSV format is then generated as indicated by the file download icon that shows. Click this to open the actions menu.
  6. Click Open to show the file.


3. Export button.

This will let you extract the data of your AMBER Account. The Export buttons can be found on Inbox, Phonebook, and Reports tabs.

On Inbox, you may extract the following data:

Exporting The List of Incoming SMS
  1. Click Inbox from the menu.
  2. Indicate the date coverage of incoming SMS to generate in a list by clicking this setup then click View.
  3. To generate this list in a file, click EXPORT.
  4. A file download in a .CSV format is then generated as indicated by the file download icon that shows. Click this to open the actions menu.
  5. To open the file, select Open. This opens the generated file containing the list of incoming SMS in Excel

Exporting a Conversation on Inbox
  1. Click Inbox from the menu.
  2. Indicate the date coverage of incoming SMS to generate in a list by clicking this setup then click View.
  3. Select the Conversation you wish to extract. Click EXPORT.
  4. A file download in a .CSV format is then generated. The file contains the whole conversation between the Contact and AMBER user.
  5. To open the file, select Open. This opens the generated file containing the list of incoming SMS in Excel
Exporting All Contacts

On Phonebook, you may extract the following data:

  1. Click Phonebook > Contacts from the menu.
  2. In the Contacts screen, click Export Button seen on the lower right corner. A file will be downloaded in a .csv format.
Exporting All Groups
  1. Click Phonebook > Groups from the menu.
  2. In the Groups screen, click Export Button seen on the lower right corner. A file will be downloaded in a .csv format.
Exporting members of a Group
  1. Click Phonebook > Groups from the menu.
  2. Search or Select the Group you wish to extract the data
  3. In the selected Group screen, click Export Button seen on the lower right corner. A file will be downloaded in a .csv format.

4. Auto reply.

When enabled, this feature generates an automated reply to All Incoming messages. To enable this, perform the following:

  1. Click Settings on the menu.
  2. In the screen that opens, click the Auto-Reply tab.
  3. As this tab opens, toggle on the “Send automated reply to incoming messages” switch to activate the feature.
  4. Enter in the textbox field the message to show as an auto- reply.
  5. Having filled this, click Save.

Please take note that if automated reply is enabled, successfully sent messages will be billed/charged to outgoing (MT).


5. Message Template.

Use this facility to create standard messages that can be drawn in an instant these are needed. You can add up to 50 Templates.  To add a message to save as a template do the following:

  1. Click Message Template on the menu.
  2. Click the Add Template button.
  3. In the dialog that opens, indicate the Name to assign for this new template.
  4. Enter the Message.
  5. Having entered these details, click the Create Message Template button.
  6. A confirmation message will show indicating the success of this process. Just click OK to close this.

6. Newsroom.

7. Duplicate Contacts.

AMBER now accepts duplicate Mobile Numbers. Just make sure that the contacts have different names for the system to accept it (spacing /letter-case / spelling).


8. New BILLING Email address.

You will receive your Invoice via new email billing@amber.ph. You may also contact this email address if you have other Finance and Billing related concerns.
